Robert Waldorf Loveless a.k.a. Bob Loveless or RW Loveless, was born on January 2, 1929 in Warren, Ohio, USA.
His works and results in knifemaking continue to inspire many bladesmiths, including myself.
He was a true pioneer, who wanted to make people understand that a knife may be beautiful and elaborate, but it is still a utility item.
He died on September 2, 2010 and “it left a vacuum in the cutlery world” /Jim Merritt/.
As for the design, it is a “Loveless”-inspired, “classic” hunting and bushcraft knife. Thanks to its well-proven and well known design and robust construction this is one of my most popular models.
The slotted bolster ensures tighter grip and greater protection which makes this knife fit for bushcraft and hunting purposes.
The parameters of the knife:
- N690 steel, 58-59Hrc
- full tang
- convex edge
- blade length: 110 mm
- blade thickness: 4 mm
- handle length: 120 mm
- full length: 230 mm
- handle fixing: 2 corby rivet
- heavy sheath leather
